From Milestones to Miracles: Seeing God Move at CrossWalk Church in 2024

Imagine a year so packed with transformation, growth, and blessings that it feels like a glimpse of heaven on earth. That was 2024 for CrossWalk Church. From raising up young leaders to impacting communities worldwide, this year was filled with moments that showed the power of faith in action.

As we reflect on these incredible wins, we’re reminded of our mission: leading people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Here’s how God worked through us this year.

Next Generation Ministries: Investing in the Future

This year, our youth, kids, and SEU (Southeastern University) ministries experienced tremendous growth—each one pointing to God’s hand at work.

Youth Ministry Highlights:

Welcomed Ryland Morrow as our new Youth Pastor, while Landon and Katie Morrow transitioned to lead as Newport News Location Pastors.
Our Youth Conference broke records, with 570 students attending from 25+ churches.
At Youth Summer Camp, 71 students encountered God in a powerful way.
Hosted our first-ever Youth Invite Night, the largest in-house youth event in CrossWalk history.

KidsWalk Ministry Highlights:

A 100% response to salvation from KidsWalk participants across all campuses.
KidsWalk Camp raised $4,000 for Watoto ministries in Uganda, teaching children to serve and give generously.
Another sold-out KidsWalk Camp—a testament to growing families hungry for God.

SEU (Southeastern University):

Under the leadership of new Site Director Jaimie Chapman, enrollment grew from 2 students to 11 in one year, equipping young adults to lead with purpose.

These moments remind us that our investment in the next generation will ripple into eternity.

Service and Global Impact: Reaching Beyond Ourselves

Through Kingdom Builders and Serve Day, 2024 became a year of radical generosity and global impact.

Kingdom Builders Milestones:

Raised $448,000 to fund life-changing projects around the world, including:
         • Installing solar panels for our church plant in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
         • Rebuilding a destroyed well in Haiti, restoring access to clean water.
         • Providing disaster relief in North Carolina after Hurricane Helen.
         • Renovating a Watoto home in Suubi Village, Uganda, for orphans.
         • Translating the New Testament into 15 languages in India, impacting 7.5 million people with God’s Word.
         • Completing the CrossWalk Children’s Movie Theatre in Gulu Community Park, Uganda, where thousands of children will hear the Gospel each week.

Local Outreach: Serve Day 2024

Our first-ever Serve Day mobilized 250 volunteers who poured 700+ hours into serving 16 community partners. Together, we:

Stocked food pantries and filled backpacks with school supplies.
Built beds, repaired homes, and planted gardens.
Showed love to the elderly, evangelized, and brought hope to our city.

Service isn’t just what we do—it’s who we are as a church.

Growth at Home: Expanding Our Reach

While we served globally, God also blessed our local campuses with growth and new opportunities:

At Williamsburg, attendance growth led to the launch of two Sunday services each week.
Our Newport News campus is preparing for an exciting move to the Yoder Barn Theater in 2025—a space that will allow us to connect with more families in the community.

We also celebrated Ben and Destiny Rothwell, who transitioned from CrossWalk to plant Sequel Church in Virginia Beach. Their 15 years of faithful service have paved the way for another Kingdom-expanding endeavor in 2025.

By the Numbers: Lives Changed in 2024

This year, the fruit of God’s work was clear in the stories of transformation across our church:

• 30% increase in attendance over the past eight weeks compared to last year.
• 664 first-time guests, welcomed with open arms.
A record-breaking 1,327 people joined us for Easter Sunday celebrations.
Over 250 salvations and more than 100 baptisms, marking lives forever changed by the Gospel.
• 80 GrowthWalk graduates, stepping into deeper discipleship and purpose.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we close the chapter on 2024, we celebrate God’s faithfulness and look forward to the year ahead. With new opportunities, expanding ministries, and a renewed commitment to serving our world, we can’t wait to see what He will do next.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our CrossWalk Family

As we reflect on all that God has accomplished through CrossWalk Church in 2024, one thing stands out above everything else: you.

To our volunteers who faithfully give their time and energy week after week—you are the heartbeat of this church. From welcoming first-time guests with a smile to leading our kids and youth, serving behind the scenes, or being the hands and feet of Jesus in our communities, your dedication makes all the difference.

To every individual and family who calls CrossWalk home, thank you for being part of this journey. Your prayers, encouragement, and willingness to show up—Sunday after Sunday—create a vibrant, life-giving community where lives are transformed.

And to our Kingdom Builders, whose generosity fuels the vision of reaching people locally and globally: you are advancing God’s mission in ways we can only begin to measure. Your faith in what God can do through this church has empowered us to dream big and act boldly for His Kingdom.

This year’s wins are not ours alone—they belong to all of us. Together, we are building a legacy of faith, love, and service that will echo into eternity.

Thank you for your partnership, your passion, and your faithfulness. Let’s step into 2025 with hearts full of gratitude and anticipation for what God will do next.

How will you be part of CrossWalk’s story in 2025?
